Schindler's River Overbet Gets Picked Off

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Jake Schindler
Jake Schindler

The full board of {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} was out between Jake Schindler and Evan Krentzman.

Schindler, who won his first bracelet earlier this summer, had bet 400,000 into a pot of only 235,000.

His opponent Krentzman had then shoved for around 1,000,000 chips, putting Schindler all in.

Schindler tanked, muttering to himself, before the clock was called. As the seconds were counted down he folded and was left with around 20 big blinds as the end of the level approached.

Barbosa Navigates Three-Bet Pot

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

A player in middle position opened to 50,000 and Jose Barbosa three-bet to 150,000 from late position. Action folded to the big blind, who thought for some time before deciding on a call. The initial raiser got out of the way to send the two remaining players heads-up to the flop.

Both players checked through the {7-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop to see the {a-Clubs} turn. The big blind checked for a second time and Barbosa fired off a delayed continuation of 140,000. His opponent made the call.

Action went check-check on the {k-Spades} river and the big blind turned over {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. It was no good, however, as Barbosa held {a-}{q-} to scoop the pot.

Matt Bond
Matt Bond

Matt Bond recapped his bust out hand to PokerNews. He recalled that the middle position player opened to 55,000 and was called by the cutoff. Bond called with the {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} in the big blind.

Bond flopped a straight on the {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop and check-raised to 260,000 after middle position continued for 80,000. The cutoff mucked but the middle position player called.

Bond fired for 440,000 on the {4-Spades} turn and his opponent jammed for 1,300,000. Bond quickly called for his tournament life.

The middle position player had the {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} and then filled up on the {j-Clubs} river to oust Bond from the Main Event.

Salas Finds Value on the River

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Feature Table C

Damian Salas raised to 50,000 in middle position and Brant Jolly three-bet to 180,000 in the hijack. The action folded back to Salas who called to see a flop of {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{8-Spades}. Salas checked to Jolly who bet 145,000 and Salas called.

The {j-Spades} paired the board on the turn and both players checked to the {4-Clubs} on the river. Salas led out with a bet of 190,000 this time and Jolly quickly called. Salas flipped over {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} and Jolly was forced to concede the pot.
