Leonard Chips Up Without Showdown

Level 5

No-Limit Hold'em

Maxx Coleman raised to 1,400 and earned calls from Brian Brunner as well as Patrick Leonard in the big blind. On a flop of A74, it checked to Brunner who bet 3,000. Leonard and Coleman both called and the 10 turn was checked. Leonard bet the 3 river for 21,000 with few chips behind, which forced folds all the way.

Small Pot for Vieira

Level 5

Badeucey

Joao Vieira raised for David Moskowitz to call as both discarded three cards. They checked to the second draw on which Vieira took two while Moskowitz took three again. Vieira now bet and that was all it took to win the pot. Vieira is the joint chip leader at his table while Phil Hui is the shortest stack right now.

Brown Quickly Disposes of Zucker's Bets

Level 5
Andrew Brown
Andrew Brown

Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

Jordan Zucker raised out of the hijack and got a call from Andrew Brown in the big blind. Both players drew two and Brown checked.

Zucker reached for chips to bet and Brown beat him into the pot with a call. Each player now drew one and Brown checked again.

Zucker once more reached for a bet and as his chips hit the table, a raise from Brown flew in before Zucker's final chip had dropped.

After a bit of thought, Zucker opted to release his hand and Brown showed 8x7xXxXxXx as the pot was pushed his way.

Gerhart Among the Early Casualties on Day 1

Level 5
Kevin Gerhart
Kevin Gerhart

Pot-Limit Omaha

Yuval Bronshtein selected Pot-Limit Omaha "to give Kevin a chance" as Kevin Gerhart in the one seat was left with a fraction of the starting stack. One of the first hands in the new variant, Gerhart raised on the button and Adam Friedman came along. On the tail end of said hand, the board showed 754105 and Friedman bet 3,000.

That was half of Gerhart's stack, who tank-called. Friedman tabled the J965 for trips fives and Gerhart mucked the 104.

Only 3,000 chips remained for Gerhart, who succumbed to the severe short stack soon after.

Robl Shortens Guagenti

Level 6

Pot-Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

In a three-way limped pot to the first draw, the small blind checked after drawing two, Andrew Robl did likewise in the big blind after also drawing two, and Nick Guagenti who had also taken two bet 2,000 from the cutoff.

Only Robl called and drew one, as did Guagenti.

Both players checked and then drew one again with Robl checking a final time and facing a bet of 3,200 from Guagenti. Robl made the call to see Guagenti's 6x5x4x3x2x for a straight that he tried to bluff through, which failed against Robl's 8x7x6x4x2x,

Guagenti is now one of the shorter stacks in the room and in danger of joining early eliminations Kevin Gerhart and Craig Chait on the rail.
