Lima Finds a Much Needed Triple up

Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Three players arrived at a board of A45. Both the small blind and Elson Lima in the big blind checked the action to the button who bet out for 7,000. The small blind called while Lima elected to shove all in for his last 18,000.

Neither opponent folded and a potential triple up was pending for Lima.

The hand was checked to a showdown as the full board read A4538. Lima was the first to show as he tabled A8 for a rivered two pair. Both other players mucked.

The pot on the flop was about 45,000 and came out 3A5. Robert Burlacu, once checked to, put the pressure on the player in the small blind with a short stack and bet 5,000.

The player in the small blind position hesitated but then threw his chips into the pot.

Robert Burlacu: AK

The turn brought the 2 which brought the possibility of a chopped pot, but the river 2 sealed the deal for Burlacu.

Ravalet Avoids Karma to Double Up

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

Following a raise from Max De Meyrick, Bastien Ravalet moved the rest of his depleted all in from the big blind. De Meyrick snap called, and rolled over KK.

Ravalet showed his AA, and then turned away from the table, not watching his fate play out. "I cracked aces with kings earlier. This is just karma!" he said, expecting to lose.

But karma had other ideas and dropped an entirely clean Q5324 runout for the double up.
