Song's 9♦7♦ was up against A♦8♦ for the nut flush draw and he retained the lead throughout the 5♥ turn and 9♥ river.

Shortly after on the same table, Philip Shing looked up a short stack for 20,000 with 9♥9♣ versus A♦7♥. The J♦8♣6♦5♦7♣ board gave Shing a nine-high straight and the table had two seat open available.

In a duel of WSOP bracelet winners, Femi Fashakin and Abhinav Iyer checked the A♠9♣8♥10♥5♦ river and the former tabled the 10♠7♥. Iyer slowly rolled over his cards and exposed the 10♦2♦, which ensured a split pot.

"That was a funny hand ... I promised to myself to open a hand with the Doyle," Iyer said. Fashakin responded "my shove would have gone through" before Iyer chimed in with an "I don't know, my hand still beats a lot".

Michael Howard was short on chips after the break, and he found himself in a battle of the blinds against another short stack.

Howard, who was in the small blind, moved all in with approximately 60,000. The big blind, who had a smaller stack, already had 6,000 committed to the pot between his blind and ante. He made the call and the cards were tabled.

Opponent: 9♥8♥

The dealer fanned a spicy flop of 10♠J♦10♣, giving Howald trip 10s and his opponent an open-ended straight. The 10♥ on the turn, though, gave Howard quads and had his opponent drawing dead to the river, where 4♣ appeared.

Howard secured the win and sent his opponent to the rail.

Facing a bet worth 21,000 on the heads-up turn of 8♣3♥2♦5♥, Ryan Leng moved all-in for 49,000 from one seat over.

"Sometimes I am drawing dead," his opponent said and then sigh-called with the 10♥10♠. That wasn't the case but they only had two outs as Leng was in the lead with the 5♦5♣ for a set of fives. Nothing changed with the 7♣ river and Leng doubled.
