Ahuja Rises Further With Brodeur Elimination

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

"I knew it, you always have such a hand ... I should have checked," Olivier Brodeur sighed after he had just been eliminated by Ankit Ahuja. The pocket aces of Brodeur were exposed for a short while but they had been cracked by Ahuja's K9 on a board of 99365 when the Indian poker pro flopped trips nines.

Also no longer in contention are Romel Mendoza, Ross Ward, and Ian O'Hara.

Reard Reborn After Double Through Korn

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

In a preflop clash, Andres Korn looked up Alexandre Reard in a battle of WSOP bracelet winners.

Alexandre Reard: AA
Andres Korn: JJ

The setup put a thorn in the stack of Korn when the board ran out 854910 as Reard doubled for 415,000.

One table over, Daniel Dangoor then lost the last four blinds to Igor D'Ursel to become the next casualty in the field, which is now down to just 40 hopefuls.

Reading’s Aces Devastate Two Players

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

John Reading found an ideal time to pick up a monster hand.

Reading was all in along with David Uvaydov, and Daniel Dangoor had both players covered. The tabled hands showed premium hands.

Reading: AA
Dangoor: AK
Uvaydov: KQ

The dealer ran out 510K92 and Reading’s aces hold to secure a massive pot and send Uvaydov to the rail. Dangoor was left with less than 100,000 after running into Reading’s aces.

Hasson Takes From Turner

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

With some 360,000 in the middle in a three-bet pot to the A97 flop, Dann Turner checked and called a bet worth 90,000 by Ori Hasson in the cutoff. Both checked the 3 on the turn and the K on the river. Turner announced what sounded to be pocket jacks but Hasson had that beat with the A10.

The Pay Jump Stalling Has Commenced

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Igor D'Ursel

Humberto Brenes won a pot post flop and showed the AA before making his usual shark movements to collect the pot, which triggered some laughter at the table.

One hand later, he opened to 50,000 and Timothy Miles three-bet to 155,000. It folded back to Brenes and he folded. In the meanwhile, two other tables saw players stalling on a pay jump.

One table over, Igor D'Ursel three-bet to 200,000 and Daniel Dangoor called with his opponent holding 50,000 chips behind to the AQ3 flop. Dangoor quickly checked and D'Ursel tanked so long that the clock was called on him. Within the 30 seconds, the Belgian pushed all-in and Dangoor folded with a sigh. D'Ursel flashed the 10 to which Dangoor replied "that still beat me".

Mendoza Doubles Through Big Stack

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Girish Reknar raised the action on the very first hand after the break, but faced an all in bet from Romel Mendoza, who was short stacked in the blinds.

Reknar quickly made the call.

Reknar: JJ
Mendoza: K9

The dealer placed KA362 on the board to give Mendoza an important double up as the blinds and ante continue to rise.

Gumz Eliminated by Hasson

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Fabian Gumz
Fabian Gumz

Fabian Gumz was all-in for some 250,000 and looked up by fellow shorter stack Ori Hasson. Once the cards were revealed, both players had an ace but Gumz needed help to stay in contention.

Fabian Gumz: AQ
Ori Hasson: AK

It was all but over for Gumz on the K98x flop and the elimination was confirmed with the A turn, which made the K river a formality.

"Good game bro," Hasson said right away and Gumz replied "thanks ... full house? I can tell my friends I lost to a full house."

Hasson then wished his opponent good luck for the rest of the series while raking in the pot.

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Thomas Zanot
Thomas Zanot

In the final hand before the break, the cards of Thomas Zanot and Dinesh Alt were already on their backs.

Zanot was the player at risk with the 108 versus Alt with the AJ. The 1042 flop had given Zanot the top pair while Alt had the nut flush draw. On the J turn, Alt took the lead with the superior pair and the 5 river ended Zanot's run in 47th place.
