Chen Leaves Madrigal On Fumes

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Picking up the action on the river, Jaime Madrigal in the small blind was involved in a hand with Guang Chen in middle position. With the board reading Q8KK5 Madrigal had a sizable bet in front of him. Chen responded by moving all in for a little over 16,000,000, sending Madrigal deep into the tank. Eventually he committed calling chips but mucked after Chen turned over 88 for the full house, leaving Madrigal short while sending Chen to the top of the chip counts.

Liang is Still Chipping Up

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Ian Alcoran raised from the small blind to 600,000 and Patrick Liang called from the big sending both players to a flop of AKK.

The hand checked through to the turn which brought the 8. Alcoran took a stab for 300,000 and Liang called.

The river brought the 10 and Alcoran put out one more bet for 600,000. Liang took his time on the decision clarifying "I'm not trying to slow roll" before flicking in the call as he tabled K3 for flopped trips. Alcoran mucked.

Haines Quadruples Up

Level 32 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Chris Haines probably thought his tournament was over after moving all in for his last 1,475,000 from under the gun and being called by the cutoff, button and both blinds. After the flop came 8106 the small blind checked before the big blind moved their remaining 2,700,000 into the middle, enough to get rid of the remaining players and put Haines officially at risk.

Chris Haines: J10
Big Blind Player: Q8

It was the right color, wrong suit for the big blind and Haines managed to stay ahead with his superior pair after the 3 turn and 9 river completed the board to grant the at risk player a second life.
