The players are now on a 60-minute dinner and will be returning at 7:30 p.m.
The floor has announced the players will play down to the money today. If they reach the money before the completion of the scheduled 15 levels, play will continue until the end of the day. If they have not reached the money after 15 levels, play will continue until they do.
Action is joined on a board of 3♥K♣6♥10♠ and Shaun Deeb checked it over to Brian Kim who put out a bet of 12,000. Deeb went into the tank for about a minute before stacking all of his chips and putting them in the middle. The count came to 29,000 and action was back on Kim.
He took his time and thought it over, clearly with a difficult decision on his hands. After about a two minutes in the tank he flicked in the chips.
The cards hit their back.
Shaun Deeb: J♣10♣
Brian Kim: A♦10♥
"Why the slow roll?" Deeb said jokingly to Kim as the dealer burned and turned the blank river and Deeb hit the rail. He was however already seen registering again and will be right back in the mix.
A player under the gun raised to 4,000, Amir Shayesteh on the button called, as did David Peters in the small blind. The player in the big blind squeezed the bet up to 16,000. Only Shayesteh called.
The flop came 7♦9♣3♥. The player in the big blind continued for 13,000 and Shayesteh didn't go anywhere.
The turn came 4♦ and the action was now checked to Shayesteh who shoved all in for 35,500. His opponent eventually folded.
Daniel Barriocanal raised under the gun to 4,000 finding Mitchell Halverson in the big blind who defended.
The flop came 10♣10♥8♥. Halverson played in flow and Barriocanal continued for 3,500. Halverson called.
The 2♦ on the turn saw Halverson now lead for 2,200 but Barriocanal didn't stay.
The Q♦ checked through to a showdown. Halverson tabled Q♥5♥, a missed flush draw that materialised into top pair by the river. A pair of queens was good and Barriocanal mucked.
Action folded to Brian Rast in the cutoff who opened to 4,000. The button folded but both of the blinds made the call. The players were off to a flop three ways.
The J♠Q♦5♦ flop hit the felt and action quickly checked through.
The turn brought a 3♠. The small blind checked but the big blind opted to lead for 6,000. Action was now on Rast who went deep into the tank but eventually opted to put enough chips out to cover both of the players in the blinds. The small blind snap folded but the big blind needed a moment. He thought through his options but eventually landed on laying down his hand and staying alive.
Rast dragged the pot and kept a healthy stack as they moved towards the end of late registration.
This week, they are joined by Acesholes Podcast hosts Caitlin Comeskey and Nikki Limo, who discuss their respective backgrounds in both entertainment and poker. The competitive duo, who are only separated by a few thousand in career earnings, then played a fun game of "Who Said It - Phil Hellmuth or Kanye West?"
Chad and Jesse then do a new "Calling the Clock" segment in which they offer quick two-minute dialogues for topics on “The Board.”
