Early Bounty Roundup

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Matthew Bremer has won a $50,000 bounty, and Upeshka De Silva, Axel Hallay, and Uri Reichenstein have both drawn one for $25,000.

But the top bounty of $250,000 remains in play for one lucky player.

Robertson and Gorodinsky Battle on the Bubble

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Mike Gorodinsky raised 17,000 from middle position, Joshua Robertson called from the cutoff, and Tony Lin called from the big blind, because, he said, "I'm not folding my big blind!"

A flop of AK5 was spread and Gorodinsky lead for 27,000, with Roberston calling and Lin smacking his cards on the table with a big smile before chucking them.

Gorodinsky gave up the lead on a 8 turn and Roberston grabbed a stack of red 5,000 chips worth 85,000 and pushed them forward, and Gorodinsky matched it.

Gorodinsky checked again to Robertson on a river 5, and this time Robertson cut out 125,000. Gorodinsky called, Robertson showed AK, Gorodinsky mucked and Robertson nearly doubled without risking going out on the bubble.

Mermelstein Cools Off Bonomo

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Aaron Mermelstein
Aaron Mermelstein

Action folded to Justin Bonomo on the button who was about to make an action and the player in the small blind got up and walked away while still having live cards. The floor was called over and they confirmed for Bonomo that the small blind's hand was dead. He didn't wait long before announcing he was all in. Aaron Mermelstein was in the big blind and snap called.

Justin Bonomo: QQ
Aaron Mermelstein: K6

The 62A flop seemed fairly safe but the 6 turn gave Mermelstein trips. The 10 landed on the river and Bonomo was sent to the rail.

David Peters was in early position against Tetsuma Ishizu in the small blind.

The pot stood at approximately 200,000 as the board read 582. Ishizu led out for 100,000 and Peters called.

Peters went into the tank for several minutes as the clock had been paused for the hand-for-hand play. Eventually making the call for his tournament life, the hand went to showdown.

David Peters: QQ
Tetsuma Ishizu: AA

The river came the 3 and Peters was eliminated in 87th place. All remaining players were now in the money for a guaranteed minimum cash of $10,858.

Rast Next in Line to Double Through Spirins

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Brian Rast shoved the remainder of his dwindling chip stack from early position and Pavel Spirins called from middle position.

Brian Rast: A10
Pavel Spirins: 22

Rast spiked the ten he needed on a 5J10 flop and Spirins could herd no more ducks on a 98 turn and river to aid his cause.

"84,000. That's something," said a relieved Rast.
