In a heads-up pot between Billy Baxter and Dan Heimiller on a board of 8♦A♣J♠6♣, Baxter checked and Heimiller bet 200,000.
Baxter check-raised to 1,500,000 and Heimiller responded by three-bet jamming on the Poker Hall of Famer for around 4,700,000. Baxter laid it down.
"It's too dangerous to let me draw," said Heimiller.
"I didn't have it, though," replied Baxter.
Michael Kucinski open-jammed as the table short stack and was called by Ron Fetsch behind him with a bigger stack.

The flop landed 9♦2♦K♠ to have Kucinski drawing to just running fives as Fetsch had top pair and a flush draw. The runout added insult to injury as it came K♣6♦ to first improve Fetsch to trips before giving him the flush as Kucinski hit the rail in 27th place.

In the first hand of the day, Ronald Neal moved all in for 2,075,000 and everyone folded to David Stearns in the big blind.
"How much is it?" inquired Stearns, but the actual count wasn't needed as the call followed in mere seconds.

The board ran out J♥9♦8♥J♣3♣ for Neal to quickly double up.
There was a middle position open to 600,000 from Eric Ritter and action folded to Ross Tesser in the small blind who called with just 250,000 behind.
The 10♣A♥2♦ flop hit the felt and Tesser open jammed his last 250,000 in. Tesser snap called and they were off to a turn and river.

The turn brought a A♣ and the 6♣ river would seal the deal, sending Tesser to the rail.
Dan Heimiller bet 800,000 from the hijack and was met with a raise of 1,600,000 from Bryant Morrison on the button. Heimiller responded with an all-in for 3,625,000 and was under-called by Morrison for 3,225,000.

Morrison was dominated and there was not much help from the board of 10♦9♦4♠5♠K♣ as Heimiller improved to top pair, top kicker and Morrison exited the Seniors Championship.
Thomas Howes opened to 550,000 from under the gun and Thong Tran counted out his chips before pushing out a three-bet to 1,600,000. Howes folded and told his opponent that he was laying down pocket tens.

Seven-time WSOP bracelet winner Billy Baxter has had an incredible performance so far. He will enter Day 4 with 6,400,000 and will hope to continue to make his stack grow. Baxter’s experience shined through on Day 3 as he moved up the leaderboards while still taking a moment to dazzle his tablemates with stories from poker past.
Baxter and the field will be chasing Gordon Eng who had a roller coaster Day 3 but will enter Day 4 as the chip leader with 15,975,000. Right on Eng’s heals will be Lonnie Hallett with 15,300,000 and not too far behind him is David Stearns with 10,575,000.
