Divita Drills River to Send Opponent to Rail
Level 3
: Blinds 200/300, 300 ante
With the board showing 9♠A♠10♥, Michael Divita’s opponent got his stack in, which Divita covered, to put his tournament life at stake.
Opponent: A♦10♦
Michael Divita: A♠J♦
Divita had the better ace, but was behind with his opponent flopping top two pair. Divita needed help, and the K♠ on the turn opened the door for a gut-shot straight draw, which gave Divita additional outs.
Then, J♥ on the river resulted in Divita having a better two pair to secure a come-from-behind win, which sent his opponent to the rail.
