Hellmuth Eliminated by Sagle

Badacey

Phil Hellmuth raised under the gun and got three-bet by Jason Sagle in the small blind. Hellmuth then moved all in for 84,000 and Sagle called.

Sagle drew one while Hellmuth needed three.

On the second draw, Sagle again drew one, while Hellmuth laughed at his misfortune, saying he had picked up trip aces. He turned AA8 face up and discarded them.

On the final draw, Sagle still drew one and Hellmuth went into the tank for his drawing decision, showing 10752A. He decided to pat and hope for half.

Sagle showed 6432 for at least a better three-card Badugi, and then after the dealer gave him the 7 to complete his hand, Sagle held a seven-low as well to scoop the pot and end the 16-time WSOP bracelet winner's first chase for number 17.

Hellmuth circled the table, shaking his opponents hands, then made his way over to other friends still in the field before leaving the tournament area in 21st place.
