Bunal Makes Hendrix Question His Fold

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Flashy Guy
Flashy Guy

Florencio Bunal limped under the gun. Roman Verenko in the cutoff raised to 55,000. Adam Hendrix called from the small blind and Bunal tagged along.

The flop came 2A5. Once checked to, Verenko continued for 65,000 and both players called.

The 7 fell on the turn. Hendrix checked once again while Bunal now chose to move all in for his last 173,000. Verenko folded and the decision was back on Hendrix. After some time in the tank, Hendrix folded sending the pot to Bunal.

Bunal showed Q8 as he raked in the pot, visibly frustrating Hendrix.

Set of Ducks for Hu

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Six players limped in from various positions to see a flop of 2Q9. Action checked around to Maurice Kraiem who bet 85,000 from the cutoff. Action then folded around to Anthony Hu who announced "pot" from the big blind, folding out all other players except for Kraiem and committing 336,000 of his 348,000 stack. Kraiem raised to put Hu all in and Hu quickly called, putting himself at risk.

Anthony Hu: AQ22
Maurice Kraiem: QJ93

Hu's bottom set was ahead of Kraiem's two-pair and remained so on the 8 turn and 3 river. Hu dragged in a major pot while Kraiem was left short-stacked.

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Dylan Weisman
Dylan Weisman

With 99,000 in the middle, the board read 7733, and Dylan Weisman checked to Jose Castillo, who pushed out a bet of 35,000. Sonny Franco called, and Weisman check-raised to 140,000. Only Castillo called.

The 9 completed the board, and Weisman announced a pot-sized bet of 414,000, putting Castillo to the test for most of his chips. About four minutes went by before a tablemate called the clock.

The floor man came to the table and gave a countdown from 30 seconds. The entire 30 seconds went by, and Castillo's hand was declared dead as the dealer pushed the pot to Weisman.

Lau's Aggressive Line Wins Him the Pot

Level 19 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Two players remained in the pot as the board read 242.

Ka Kwan Lau in the big blind check-raised the continuation of Johann Ibanez in the cutoff from 30,000 to 90,000. Ibanez called.

The turn brought the 10 and Lau bet again for 150,000. Ibanez was undeterred.

The 6 on the river saw Lau shove all in for the remainder of his stack, more than enough to put Ibanez at risk for his tournament life. After much deliberation, Ibanez folded.

Chip and a Chair for Konstas

Level 19 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Jay Harwood bet 35,000 from early position and received calls from Peng Shan in middle position and Venkata Chita in the cutoff. Ionnis Angelou Konstas announced "pot" and bet 183,000. Harwood and Shan folded leaving players heads up. Chita moved all in with a covering stack and Konstas made the call to put himself at risk.

Ioannis Angelou Konstas: AKJJ
Venkata Chita: KQ109

The board ran out K7448. Both players had two-pair, Kings and Fours but Konstas had the best kicker with an ace to take down a key pot. Chita was left short-stacked and would bust out shortly after.

Konstas mentioned after the hand that he was down to a single yellow 1,000 chip earlier in the tournament when the big blind was 2,500. He has increased his stack more than twenty fold since then.
