Koral Chipping Away at Mozdzen

Level 20 : Limits 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

Clayton Mozdzen raised it up from the cutoff and Tom Koral three-bet from the small blind. Mozdzen called and they went heads-up to a flop of J95.

Koral led out with a bet and Mozdzen raised which Koral called. The turn was the K and both players checked to the J on the river. Two more checks and Koral tabled KQ which bested Mozdzen's 109.

Two hands later, Koral raised from the cutoff and Mozdzen defended from the big blind. The flop came 965 and Mozdzen check-folded to a bet from Koral.

Bet, Bet, Bet from Shak

Level 20 : Limits 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

Dan Shak raised from under the gun and Joe McKeehen defended from the big blind. The flop fell 983 and McKeehen check-called a bet from Shak.

The turn was the J and McKeehen checked again. Shak fired out another bet and McKeehen stuck around for the 10 on the river. McKeehen checked for the third time and Shak continued to bet. McKeehen finally folded this time and Shak has recovered most of his chips.

Boom! Shak Battles Back, Here Comes the Steel Wheel

Jason Daly raised in early position, Michael Kuo raised it and Dan Shak kicked it up again, get a call from both previous raisers.

The flop came 959 and Daly and Kuo both checked, inducing a bet from Shak. He garnered two folds and showed the J9 for flopped trips.

Just a bit later Daly and Shak saw a flop heads up of 534. Daly bet, Shak called and they saw a turn of the 9. Daly bet again but this time was met by a raise from Shak, which he prompty called.

Daly checked when the rivered peeled a fourth club in the form of the 9 and folded to a bet from Shak, who exclaimed, "I flopped a straight flush! I might need to order a coffee..."

Mutter Fills Up to Bust Qutami

Level 20 : Limits 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

It only took a couple of preflop raises for Danny Qutami to get the last of his 85,000 chips in the middle but he ran into a monster when Brent Mutter tabled his hand.

Brent Mutter: KK

The flop came J55 and Qutami was left looking for one of three aces in the deck. The 8 on the turn changed nothing and the K on the river improved Mutter to a full house to eliminate Qutami.

Lo Scoops a Big One

Level 19 : Limits 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Milfred Sageer raised from under the gun and Kuenwai Lo three-bet on his left. Alex Torry four-bet from the small blind and both Sageer and Lo called.

The flop came 532 and Torry led out with a bet. Sageer called and Lo raised which was called by both of his opponents. The turn brought the 4 and the action checked to Lo who fired out another bet. Torry folded this time but Sageer still called.

The river was the Q and Sageer check-called one last bet from Lo who turned over 66 for a straight. Sageer showed KQ for a rivered pair before his cards went into the muck.

Qutami Gets Away Again, Mutter Says "Cap it."

Three ways to a flop and Danny Qutami led out on a board of 10Q9. Brent Mutter then raised that bet and Yingui Li raised it yet again. Qutami was at quite a decision point and couldn't help but notice that Mutter didn't have much behind after his raise. Eventually, he let it go.

Mutter then capped the bet and and Li called, together they saw the 10 which saw Mutter bet once more, only leaving him with 10,000 behind, Li called.

The river brought the 7 and and checked through, Mutter declaring a straight as he showed the KJ for the flopped straight. Li sent his hand in the muck and Qutami said he folded pocket aces at the tough flop decision.

Koral Among the Leaders

David Bach raised it up from the cutoff and Tom Koral reraised on the button. Bach called and they went heads-up to a flop of 976. Bach checked to Koral who placed a bet and Bach called.

The action was the same for the 7 on the turn and the 9 on the river. Koral turned over JJ for an over pair and Bach nodded his head as he conceded the pot.

No Spades for Cavanagh

Level 19 : Limits 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Milfred Sageer and John Cavanagh stuck in a few preflop raises until Cavanagh had the last of his 60,000 chips in the middle.

The flop came K84 to give Sageer top pair but Cavanagh picked up a flush draw. The 5 changed nothing on the turn and the 7 also bricked the river, ending Cavanagh's tournament.

Qutami Quietly Curtails

Level 19 : Limits 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Just after being shown the quad fives of Yingui Li at showdown, Danny Qutami found himself in another crucial pot, only two hands later.

Daniel Young raised in late position and was called by Qutami in the big blind. Heads up, they saw saw a flop of J109. Both players checked and the dealer presented the 4.

Qutami then took the initiative and bet, only to be met by the raise of Young. Qutami quickly called and together they saw the 2 peel on the river. Both players looked pained as they checked and Qutami was first to show the 45 for a flopped flush, dwarfed by the fourth heart on the river.

Young then showed the KQ for the third nut flush and mentioned that he actually didn't like the river card when it first fell.

Qutami managed to lose the minimum in two big spots against a rather cold deck.
