Hastings Felts Henson

Level 10 : Blinds 800/1,600, 2,400 ante

Picking up the action on the draw, Brian Hastings in the big blind had Ray Henson in middle position all in and at risk. Hastings stood pat, prompting Henson to take one card after which Hastings turned over 9x5x4x3x2x. Henson held 7x4x3x2x, meaning he would need to find a five, six or eight to survive. He instead paired his three, sending him to the rail while sending a huge pot Hastings' direction.

Po Ousted

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,800 ante

A player limped from under the gun and action folded around to Kenneth Po in the small blind who moved all in for 7,600. The limper quickly called with the covering stack to put Po at risk.

Both players stood pat after which Po tabled 10x9x6x4x3x. His pat hand could not beat the 8x5x4x3x2x of his opponent, bringing Po's tournament to an end late in the day.

Gee Busts Sheikhan

Shawn Sheikhan
Shawn Sheikhan

David Gee raised to 3,500 from the button and Shawn Sheikhan went all in for only 200 more.

Gee stood pat, and Sheikhan took three. "What do I have to beat?" asked Sheikhan and Gee showed him 10x9x8x6x4x.

It only took one of the cards dealt to Sheikhan before he knew he was drawing dead and he spun his hand onto the table face down, and he exited after a frustrating day.

Gannon Victim of Misclick

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,800 ante

Liam Gannon announced a raise of "thirty-four thousand" from under the gun having meant to open to 3,400. Robert Wells then moved all in for 31,700 from middle position with the remaining players getting out of the way to send action back to Gannon who made the call.

Gannon took one while Wells chose to stand pat before turning over Jx8x6x3x2x. Despite the mistake, Gannon was drawing live holding 9x8x5x2x. He could not improve, however, instead peeling the Qx to hand Wells a full double and leave Gannon mulling over a costly error.

Wells on a Roll

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,800 ante

Robert Wells raised to 3,500 from under the gun, and an early position player, a middle position player, and the button called.

Wells drew one, the early position player drew two, and the middle position and button each took one.

Wells continued for 6,000 after the draw, and only the button called. Wells declared a ninety-eight and took down a nice pot.

On the next hand Liam Gannon raised 3,000 from the button and Wells called. Wells drew two and Gannon said, "I'm not happy about this," and drew three. Gannon called out a pair of threes and Gannon laughed, "You're good," and mucked.

Dickstein Ascending

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,800 ante

A player opened to 2,700 from the cutoff and was called by Mark Dickstein on the button as well as a player in the big blind.

The big blind took two and the original raiser one while Dickstein stood pat. Action then checked around with Dickstein showing down Qx10x7x4x3x for a winner to add more to his already large stack.
