Moncek Doubles Through Le and Busts Maksimov

Level 10 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Michael Moncek
Michael Moncek

Michael Moncek raised to 16,000 from an early position and earned calls from Allan Le in the small blind and Artem Maksimov in the big blind. The A102 flop brought a check from Le and Maksimov pushed all-in for the 33,000 he had left. Moncek called and then also called Le's check-raise to 110,000.

Le pushed all-in after the 8 turn and Moncek called all-in.

When the dealer pointed to Maksimov, the Russian instantly said "just run it, I am drawing dead" while he briefly showed his ace-king high combo.

Moncek had the AQ96 for the nut flush draw and a double gutshot while Le was ahead with the 10522 for a set of deuces. The J river gave Moncek a straight and he doubled for 238,000.

Frank Wins a Family Pot

Level 11 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Just before the blinds went up, six players limped on a seven-handed table and Dash Dudley in big blind joked "hey Micky, do you want your cards back?" as Michael Duek had folded.

The Q65 flop was checked and Robert Cowen bet the 7 turn for 28,000. Only Christopher Frank called and Cowen checked the 8 river. Frank bet the pot for 114,000 and Cowen folded.

Glaser and Deeb Show the Same Straight

Level 11 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Benny Glaser and Shaun Deeb both limped in, while Eric Wasserson and Brian Rast came along from the blinds and they went four-handed to the AK10 flop.

Action checked to Glaser who fired out 17,000 and only Deeb called. The turn came the 3 and Glaser bet another 55,000.

Deeb again called to the K river, where Glaser slowed down and checked. Deeb checked behind and Glaser turned over KQJ8 for the flopped straight. Deeb also showed QJ95 for the same straight as they split the pot.

Ausmus Fills Up on Housenbold

Level 11 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Jeremy Ausmus and Jeffrey Housenbold built up a massive pot heading to the river on a board of QKQJJ when Ausmus made a pot-sized bet of 335,000.

Housenbold, with around 150,000 remaining, used a time bank before he called. Ausmus showed AQJ4 for queens full of jacks.

"I need pocket kings, right," Housenbold asked as he looked back at his hand, but he could only show A1076 for the straight.

"I thought you were taking advantage of me," he told Ausmus as the Silicon Valley venture capitalist asked to take a picture with Ausmus before departing. Ausmus even held up his winning hand.

"That's a needle," a tablemate said.
