Raymer Spinning Yarns

Level 3

After folding a hand in the No-Limit Hold'em round, Greg Raymer continued telling a story. "So this was like a $5,000 charity combination hold'em and stud event in Los Angeles, I think it was the Bike. And people keep coming over and saying that with the average stack at 50,000 Barry Greenstein has like 300,000, and then he has 400,000.

"But all the while, he and Phil Ivey, who wasn't playing in the event, are playing props. It's this complicated version where Barry has the threes, sevens, and jacks, and Ivey has the fours, eights, and queens or whatever, and if one of their cards hits, the other pays $5,000, and if two of them hit it's $15,000 or something like that.

"And so it keeps going on, people coming over and saying, 'Barry's up to 500,000 in chips, but he's down $100,000 or $250,000 to Ivey.' And it's like Barry could win this tournament and not make a dime. I got knocked out, so I don't know if Barry won or not, but I'll never forget that story. If he won, it must be the unhappiest winner photo of all time."

Level 3

Pot-Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

Action caught up with Faizal Khoja all-in against Kevin Bauer, with Bauer showing his cards to Khoja and announcing he had made a wheel with one draw left, forcing Khoja to break an eighty-seven low.

Faizal Khoja: 8x7x4x3x2x
Kevin Bauer: 7x5x4x3x2x

Khoja would need to draw a five to chop, but instead drew a 9x, for a ninety-seven, sending him to the rail.

Nawabi Is Not Snowing

Level 3

No-Limit 5-Card Draw High

Following a hand in which Yosif Nawabi had bet big and when everyone folded announced, "I was snowing!", he found himself in a hand with Amin Hosein.

Hosein raised to 2,000 from middle position and Nawabi reraised to 6,000 on the button. Hosein took one card and Nawabi patted.

Hosein checked to Nawabi, who then went all in for 14,200. Hosein called begrudgingly. Nawabi said, "I'm snowing again!", but then turned over a full house, fives over threes.

Nawabi said he was worried Hosein had filled up, and Hosein confirmed his suspicions saying he had two pair, kings and queens. "It's okay though," Nawabi said, trying to console Hosein. "I already gave you 40,000 on that other hand."
