Tayi Surivives

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Venkata Tayi went all in from the small blind, for a little over 400,000. He was called by the big blind, who covered.

Venkata Tayi: Q2
Big Blind: 33

The dealer spread a flop of 6Q9 putting Tayi in front, and a turn and river of 10 2 did nothing to change that.

Tayi put his hands together, offering thanks to the heavens, before pulling in his chips.

"River's Fine" For Lane

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Michael Lane
Michael Lane

The PokerNews team caught the tail end of a hand between a player in the big blind and Michael Lane in the cutoff, who was all in preflop for just over 1,100,000.

Michael Lane: KJ
Big Blind: 66

When the board ran out A552, the end looked near for Lane who needed a king or jack to stay alive.

"The river's fine," announced Lane just before the dealer peeled off the K river to give Lane the pair he needed.

"Bam!" said Lane as he stood up and clapped his hands in excitement for scoring a full double up.

Damelian Wins Flip To Stay Alive

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

All the chips hit the middle preflop between a player in the big blind and Robert Damelian in the hijack, who was at risk for his stack of 1,550,000.

Robert Damelian: 77
Big Blind: AQ

It was a classic flip-situation, but when the board ran out 64385, it was the sevens that made a straight to score the pot and full double up for Damelian.

Subair Up Out of his Chair

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Remi Subair went all in and was isolated by Scott Brewis' bigger stack. Heads up and they were set to see five cards when Subair saw the bad news.

Remi Subair: AK
Scott Brewis: AA

Subair couldn't believe his luck as the J9Q peeled but it didn't keep him from saying "Ten! Let's go, ten!" and when the 10 rolled he shouted an expletive and clapped his hands loudly. He quickly apologized as he took his seat when the J peeled the river.

The player in the one seat chose to state the obvious and said, "You know you're like a 19-1 dog there, right? That's like the worst hand you could have run into."

Still elated, Subair said, "I know, I know!" and helped the dealer count his stack, believing his luck even less than he did before as the pendulum swung.

Lucky Man, Aman

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

A player in early position went all in for their last 725,000 and was called by Rafe Aman.

Short Stack: 88
Rafe Aman: Q10

Aman got there right away as the AJ10 peeled. The turn was the 2 and when the K rolled off the river, Aman improved further to a straight to scoop the pot.

One of Aman's tablemates made a point of saying this hand was just to further document that he's never ahead when he calls it off.

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Scott Bohlman
Scott Bohlman

A player in the cutoff opened to 200,000 and the button moved all in for 960,000. Scott Bohlman was in the small blind and reshoved for 1,400,000 and action was back on the initial raiser who mucked their hand face up showing 77.

Button: A9
Scott Bohlman: 99

Bohlman had his opponent drawing slim, and when the board ran out QJ610Q, it was the nines for Bohlman that held up to send his opponent to the payout desk.
