Becker Leads Two Streets, Can't Shake Lazaro Off Underpair
Level 21
: Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Rene Lazaro opened to from middle position and mid-stakes tournament prodigy Jeremy Becker defended out of the big blind.
Becker, seated aside fellow tournament crusher Chance Kornuth, checked on the 4♣J♥J♦ flop and called as Lazaro continued for 25,000. Becker then led out for 105,000 on the Q♠ turn and Lazaro called.
The 6♣ river completed the board and Becker sized up to 285,000. Lazaro counted out his stack before eventually calling. Becker sheepishly turned over a bluff with K♠9♣ for king-high and Lazaro tabled an underpair with 3♦3♥ to win the pot.
