Farris Doubles on Moore

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

A player opened and Michael Farris shoved for his remaining stack worth slightly less than 300,000. Mathew Moore made the call in the big blind and the initial player let it go:

Michael Farris: KK
Mathew Moore: AK

The board didn't bring any bad surprises to Farris with Q456K who took down the pot and the double up with a set of kings.

Jordan Grant: A7

Good Triples

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Five players saw the Q86 flop, creating a pot of about 130,000. The action checked to the hijack as he bet 55,000. The button called and Jonathan Good check-raised all in for 95,000. Both the hijack and button called.

When the 4 hit the turn, the hijack dropped a bet of 350,000 across the line. The button thought about it for about 10 seconds before releasing her hand.

Jonathan Good: 66
Hijack: KQ

Good had flopped a set of sixes and had his opponent drawing dead as the 8 completed the board.

The Gazelle Gets Away

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Action folded around to Doug Polk in the small blind, who opted to move all in for 92,000. The player in the big blind made the call with a covering stack to put Polk at risk.

Doug Polk: A9
Big Blind: K5

Polk was ahead with the ace but needed to fade two live cards from his opponent. The board ran out 627210 and Polk secured a full double up, extending his Main Event run.

"Take that you vultures!" Polk joked to the crowd of spectators that had gathered around to watch the board run out. "The gazelle got away!"

Updated Chip Counts

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Brandt Weir Makes a Straight

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Picking up the action on the turn, Kathrine Brandt Weir in the small blind was involved in a hand with a player from under the gun. With the board reading Q2210 Brandt Weir moved all in, covering her opponent who had around 100,000 behind. After some consideration, the under the gun player committed his remaining chips.

Under-the-Gun Player: KQ
Kathrine Brandt Weir: KJ

The at risk player was ahead with his pair but Brandt Weir had an open ended straight draw. The 9 hit the felt on the river to improve Brandt Weir to a straight and send the under-the-gun player out of the tournament in gut wrenching fashion.

Wu Successfully Bluffs Chidwick

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Andrew Wu
Andrew Wu

Andrew Wu raised to 37,000 with the J10 and Stephen Chidwick came along out of the small blind with the AJ. The two players headed to the A54 flop on which Chidwick checked and subsequently called Wu's bet worth 54,000.

The J turn was checked and the K river completed the board. Chidwick bet 140,000 with his two pair and Wu raised it up to massive 500,000. That sent Chidwick into the tank for two minutes and he then folded.

Wu raked in the pot without mucking his cards and when he did so, one of them appeared to flash to players at the table.

Lady Luck for Ferraro

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Cole Ferraro was one of the short stacks at the table and pushed all in for 132,000 in early position. The button reshoved all in and the blinds got out of the way.

Cole Ferraro: AQ
Opponent: AK

Ferraro was in rough shape but the flop of QJ9 put him out front with a pair of queens. The 7 and 3 runout changed nothing and Ferraro doubled up to stay in the tournament.

Eychenne Loses A Big Flip

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

From the hijack, Thomas Eychenne opened to 25,000. Then on the button, Kostantinos Papanikos three-bet to 95,000.

Action back to Eychenne, the Frenchman four-bet all in for 484,000 chips. Not that happy, Papanikos called, with a slightly smaller stack of 421,000 chips.

Kostantinos Papanikos: QQ
Thomas Eychenne: AK

The coin landed on Papanikos' side, as Eychenne couldn't find an ace or a king on 57497. While Papanikos doubled his stack to 874,000 chips, Eychenne is back to the starting stack of the Main Event.

Halverson Has the Goods in a Huge Pot

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Mitchell Halverson
Mitchell Halverson

The hand was heads up with the pot stood at 610,000. The full board had been dealt 7KQ9A and the action was on Mitchell Halverson in the big blind, who slid out a bet out 760,000; more than enough to put his opponent all in.

Faced with a decision for their tournament life, the player in early position thought over the decision for a considerable amount of time. A crowd had started to amass, eager to see the conclusion of the hand. They eventually made the call and Halverson instantly tabled J10 for the nuts. His opponent tabled KQ for an inferior two-pair.

Halverson claimed another tournament life and a huge pot in the process.
