Passive Play by Blair with Aces Reaps Rich Rewards

Level 12 : Blinds 400/800, 80 ante
Huge Pot for Nathan "Forbroke" Blair
Huge Pot for Nathan "Forbroke" Blair

Benjamin "TheChyGuy" Ector bet 1,600 from middle position and "roulettepro" raised to 4,000 from the hijack. Nathan "Forbroke" Blair cold called from the button, which lead to Ector raising to 12,420.

"roulettepro" moved all in for 24,066 and Blair only called once again. Ector moved all in, which covered Blair who called for 91,481.

"roulettepro": QQ
Nathan "Forbroke" Blair: AA
Benjamin "TheChyGuy" Ector: AK

Blair's passive play worked to perfection, but the flop of QJ2 gave "roulettepro" top set. Blair's fears were soon allayed as the A came on the turn for a better set and improved further when hitting the 5 to make the nut flush.

Blair scopped up a massive pot, leaving Ector with crumbs as roulettepro was eliminated.

Westover Wipes Out Muntenau by Cracking Aces

Level 12 : Blinds 400/800, 80 ante

Keegan "whatsyours" Westover bet 1,600 from under the gun and was immediately raised by Bogdan "Nitazor" Munteanu in early position for 4,000. "vsamba" cold called in the small blind, which didn't deter Westover from reraising to 13,600. Munteanu moved all in for 31,355. "vsamba" folded and Westover called.

Bogdan "Nitazor" Munteanu: AA
Keegan "whatsyours" Westover: JJ

Munteanu was well ahead, but couldn't have liked the 753 flop that gave Westover a flush draw. The 3 on the turn changed nothing, but the J gave Westover a set to take a massive pot and catapult into the chip lead. Munteanu decided not to rebuy and exited the tournament.
