Johnson Finds the Straight

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Four players at the table saw a 6Q109 board when the opponent in the hijack bet out 3,000 into David Johnson's check in late position.

Johnson quickly called and the dealer brought the Q on the river. Both players checked it down and Johnson showed 78 for a straight, against the opponent's KQ who hit trips on the river.

Johnson got an early chip up to start the day.

Action Table Sees Four All Ins Early On

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

While most tables here at the Horseshoe are playing mostly small pots during the first two levels of play, there is one table in particular where players are battling early.

PokerNews caught the tail end of a hand where Joey Gargiulo was seen dragging in a large pot after doubling up. Gargiulo and the players at the table helped recap the action, where they explained that all the money went in on the flop of 3x5x4x.

Opponent: 9x9x

Nines were in the lead on the Ax turn, but Gargiulo improved to trips on the 3x river, giving him the double up.

Players at the table shared that this was the fourth all in that took place, despite being very early in the day.

Conner Takes Two

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Players were already at a board of 610K94 when Yoshinori Funayama bet small from the big blind. Ryan Conner from a late position made a call and the players flipped their hands.

Both players had a pair, Funayama sat with 88 for pocket eights, missing the board and Conner had J10 for a pair of tens.

Conner took the pot and went straight into the next hand as the hijack. Conner raised preflop to 400 getting a call only from an opponent in the cutoff.

The flop brought A4K and Conner continuation-bet for 700, getting a fold from the cutoff.
