Torry Adds to his Stack

Level 2 : Limits 600/1,200, 0 ante

Brian Tate opened from early position and then called after Alex Torry three-bet out of the small blind.

Torry continued on the 7Q7 flop and was called.

There was no slowing down for Torry following the 3 turn as he slid out another bet but that was too rich for Tate, who folded.

The river was the Q and Anderson opted for another bet that was called by Rightnour.

Anderson tabled AA but it was no good, as Rightnour showed down AQ for trip queens.

Hillman Makes Decent Start

Level 2 : Limits 600/1,200, 0 ante

Louis Hillman took fifth place in this event last year for a career best score of $81,298. He will be looking to improve on that this year after a decent start to play during Level 1.

A player opened from early position before being three-bet by Juha Helppi one seat over. Hillman called in the big blind as did the original raiser.

Action checked to Helppi on the 583 flop and he continued. Neither of his opponents were prepared to relinquish their hands just yet, keeping affairs three-handed heading to the turn.

The turn came 6. Once again Hillman and the early position player checked and Helppi bet. Two quick calls followed.

No more chips went into the pot after the 5 river completed the board. Hillman tabled JJ, prompting his opponents to muck their holdings.

The river was the 6; it was checked to Kusumowidagdo, who bet out once more and was called by both players again.

Kusumowidagdo showed Q8 for a flopped two pair and both players threw their cards in the muck.

Joo Forces a River Fold

Level 1 : Limits 500/1,000, 0 ante

Emery Martindale opened from the cutoff and was called by Ha Ram Joo in the small blind as well as John Elliott in the big blind.

Action checked to Martindale on the 8Q2 flop and he tossed out a bet. Joo called while Elliott folded to send action heads up to the turn.

Both players checked through the 5 turn to the 5 river at which point Joo took over the betting lead. That bet was enough to get Martindale to lay down his had and send a small pot over to Joo.
