Before late registration ended, the event drew a total of 574 entries, surpassing last year’s number of 522 and generating a total prize pool of $766,290. Of those, just 157 players made it through to Day 2. Among them are who’s who of poker talent, including Adam Friedman (72,500), Shawn Buchanan (81,000), Frank Kassela (90,500), David “Bakes” Baker (103,000), Yuval Bronshtein (105,000), Jon Turner (119,500), Amnon Filippi (150,000), Michael Noori (166,500), and Carol Fuchs (218,500) to name a few.

Fuchs, who finished 16th in the same event last year, will be looking to add to her over $800,000 in live-tournaments earnings. Fuchs is a mixed-game specialist and won her first and only WSOP bracelet in 2015 after taking down a $1,500 Dealer’s Choice event. Fuchs enters Day 2 fourth in chips and is poised to make another deep run in the event.

The money bubble will burst when 87 players remain, at which point everyone will be guaranteed a min-cash of $3,000. The eventual winner will take home $146,516 in addition to the gold bracelet.
