Joshua Thibodaux raised to 30,000 on the button and was called by Yingui Li in the small blind. Phil Ivey announced a pot-sized raise to 120,000, which got a fold from Thibodaux and a call from Li.
Li check-folded facing a shove for approximately 100,000 on the 2♥9♥6♦ flop and Ivey padded his stack once again.
Phil Ivey limped in from the hijack and Marco Johnson checked from the big blind.
The flop came Q♦9♦7♠ and Ivey called an 18,000 continuation bet from Johnson.
Johnson checked on the K♦ turn. Ivey bet 25,000 and Johnson's hand hit the muck.
Elsewhere in the tournament area, Nick Schulman and Jeff Madsen were recently eliminated.
Phil Ivey was heads up against Joshua Thibodaux on a completed board of 9♣10♥K♣Q♦4♣. The majority of Ivey’s chips were in the middle and he was facing a shove from Thibodaux to put Ivey all in. Ivey let his hand go and was left with just 95,000 following the clash.
A couple of hands later, Ivey raised pot on the button and Joao Simao three-bet from the big blind to put Ivey all. Ivey called and a showdown was held.
Phil Ivey: A♥K♣6♠3♣
Joao Simao: A♦Q♣6♥2♥
The 5♦4♣J♣7♣2♠ runout left Ivey with a wheel and he scored a much-needed double up.
With two players seeing a flop of K♠9♥8♦ John Zable was all in for a bit more than 100,000 and up against Tyler Brown who had him covered.
John Zable: K♥7♠3♦2♠
Tyler Brown: A♥A♦4♥3♠
Brown's aces held up when the rest of the board ran out 6♦Q♥ to send Zable to the rail and take the pot.
Phil Ivey had limped in from the hijack and was facing a raise to 60,000 from Adrian Buckley in the small blind. Ivey called.
Buckley checked to Ivey on the K♥Q♣3♣ flop and he bet 100,000. Buckey then shoved for approximately 150,000 total and Ivey called to put Buckley at risk.
Adrian Buckley: K♣K♠3♦2♣
Phil Ivey: A♦5♣4♣2♠
Buckley had Ivey’s flush draw dominated, and the 9♣ turn improved Buckley to a king-high flush. The 9♥ river changed nothing and Buckley doubled up.
With two players seeing a flop of A♠K♦5♣, Yingui Li was all in for 153,000 and up against Nick Guagenti, who covered him.
Yingui Li: 6♠5♠5♥4♣
Nick Guagenti: A♥J♠10♣3♠
The turn came the 7♥ and river 5♦. Guagenti did not have a low, and Li had made quad fives by the river to score the double-up.
