Stacey Raises Out Lindgren

Patrick Stacey reraised before the first draw, then bet again as Oscar Johansson, Lawrence Brandt, and Erick Lindgren came along.

Johansson and Stacey drew one on the second draw, while Lindgren and Brandt took two. All four players checked and everyone took one except Brandt who drew two.

Lindgren then bet and Stacey raised. Brandt and Johansson both folded, while Lindgren also mucked as Stacey took the big pot without a showdown.

Negreanu Drops One to Johns, Learns Not to Bluff Hale

"I raised with two pair and he called me with queen-six. Put an x on that guy. Never bluff because he will call you," Daniel Negreanu said, his camera poised on tablemate Brant Hale.

Negreanu then got involved in a pot against Ian Johns where he reraised in the cutoff and Johns called in the hijack.

Both players drew one and Johns led out with a bet. Negreanu called and drew one, while Johns stood pat and bet.

Negreanu called again and took one as Johns patted again. Both players checked and Johns won the pot with 8x7x6x4x2x.

Michael Rocco opened from under the gun and received a call from Lawrence Brandt in the small blind.

Both players drew two, checked and drew two again. Brandt then check-called a bet from Rocco and drew two once more while Rocco stood pat.

With no draws remaining Brandt check-called another bet from Rocco, who showed down 9x7x6x4x2x. Brandt mucked and Rocco took the pot.

Alioto Raises Pimlott

Bryan Pimlott and Dario Alioto both drew one on the first draw and Alioto bet from the hijack. Pimlott called in the small blind.

Both players drew one again and checked the second draw. Pimlott stood pat, while Alioto drew one more.

Pimlott then bet and Alioto came back with a raise. Pimlott called, then mucked when Alioto showed 8x5x4x3x2x to win the pot.

Daniel Negreanu opened from the cutoff and Jonathan Borenstein defended from the big blind. Both players drew two.

After the first draw Borenstein bet and Negreanu called. Both players drew one.

Borenstein checked after the second draw and Negreanu bet. Borenstein raised to two big bets and Negreanu briefly considered his options.

"Didn't expect that. Didn't expect to bet-fold" Negreanu commented before mucking his hand.

Both players drew two, checked, drew two and checked again. Hale drew to for the final draw while Negreanu stood pat.

Both players checked once more with no draws remaining. Hale announced he had an ace while Negreanu tabled Qx10x8x3x2x to take the pot.

Blom Makes a Seven on Hamid

Mike Matusow just entered the tournament, taking his seat in a customized chair with his name emblazoned on the back.

"Hey David, how many tournaments are you going to have chips in this year?" he called out to David "ODB" Baker at an adjacent table.

"Hopefully all of them," Baker replied.

"I can't get any. I go to bed dreaming of ending the day with a starting stack," Matusow added.

"I'm Day 1 Dave this year. Hopefully I'll be Day 2 Dave eventually," Baker said.

Baker was a mere spectator on the most recently hand at his table as Sami Hamid raised in the cutoff, Viktor Blom reraised, and Hamid called.

Hamid drew two and Blom one. Blom then bet and Hamid called.

Hamid took two more on the second draw and Blom bet after drawing one again. Hamid called and drew one, while Blom stood pat and bet.

Hamid called and Blom showed 7x6x5x4x2x to win the pot.
