Brick River Gives Gafford the Double Knockout

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

The Pot-Limit Omaha hand was caught on the flop of J94. Three players had seen the flop and Brad Gafford was first to act from the blinds.

According to the players, he bet pot, which was 10,500, and the player in middle position called. Tanupat Punjarojanakul in late position only had a little over 12,000 total and pushed all-in. Gafford called and middle position called the extra 2,000 chips or so.

The turn came the 6. Gafford now moved all in, covering the middle position‘s stack of around 30,000 chips. After thinking for quite a while, middle position called all-in.

Tanupat Punjarojanakul: 10Q98All in
Middle position: K1073All in
Brad Gafford: AKJ9

Punjarojanakul had a wrap with a pair, while the middle-position player only had the flush draw and a double gutshot. Gafford was ahead with top two pair, but his opponents had many outs to win the hand.

However, the river was a total brick, the 2, and he was able to score a double knockout and chip up.
