Petro Gets a Big Double-Up

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

According to the players, action folded around to Weiran Pu on the button. He raised, and Morgan Petro shoved from the big blind for 970,000. Pu called.

Petro’s sixes held on the board of 29832 and he was able to double up, while Pu suffered a big hit and was down to around ten big blinds.

Pu’s misfortune did not last long, however, as he was able to a little more than double up in a pot versus Grant Juric soon after. Pu got it in with JxJx against Juric’s 8x8x, was able to hold and is back up to a middling stack.

Gafford Spikes an Ace

Bradley Gafford opened from early position to 350,000, leaving just 90,000 behind. When it folded to Gianluca Cedolia on the button, he elected to make the call. Both the blinds folded, to go heads up on the flop.

The flop came out 9A3 and Gafford bet out his last 90,000 which was quickly called by Cedolia.

Gafford was able to get the best of the kings of Cedolia on the flop, and when the Q on the turn and 5 on the river came, it gave him the double up with his pair of aces.

Pu Sends Punsri Away With Straight Flush

Action was picked up on the turn with the board reading 8710Q. Punnat Punsri bet 100,000 from the button and Weiran Pu called from the big blind.

The river came the 8. Pu checked over to Punsri who went all in except for one chip. Pu quickly raised him all in to make him put the last chip in which he did while shaking his head.

Pu tabled the straight flush. "I should have checked back" said Punsri as he stood up to leave with his tournament run over.

Nines Good to Jamasi

Ivan Uzunov opened the action from under the gun with a minraise. Farhad Jamasi was next to act and went all in for about 250,000. After action folded around and Uzunov called for 170,000 more.

The flop was pretty good for Jamasi, giving him a set on 9510. Uzunov got a gunshot and some backdoor outs.

The turn was the 6, bringing in Uzunov’s club draw, but the river A gave Jamasi the double-up.

Cedolia on The Rise

When action folded to Gianluca Cedolia in middle position, he raised to 85,000. He was called by Andrei Stoenescu in the cutoff, and Jiacong Zhang in the big blind.

After the K86 flop, Zhang checked to Cedolia who bet out 135,000. Stoenescu folded, but Zhang called to see a turn.

The Q came on the turn, and after Zhang checked, Cedolia announced all in for 470,000. Zhang took some time thinking over his decision, but eventually mucked his hand, to give Cedolia the pot.

Grujic Eliminated by Uzunov

Marko Grujic open-raised from early position. Action folded to Ivan Uzunov in the small blind. He went all in for about 600,000 chips. When it got back to him, Grujic called and was the all-in player.

The flop QA7 gave Uzunov the better pair and Grujic was drawing thin. The turn 8 and river A did not give him the cards he needed and he was eliminated.

Kristofer Kneale raised all in for 375,000 from early position, and Silvio Costa made the call on the button. Action folded around, leaving the two players heads up, with Kneale at risk.

Costa was poised for the elimination with his pocket nines, against the one over card for Kneale. The flop came 53K giving Kneale a wheel draw for extra outs in the form of a deuce. The turn was no help as the Q hit the felt, but the A on the river gave Kneale the best hand with his pair of aces.

Costa was left with just 25,000 chips after the hand and was eliminated a few hands later.

Reichenstein Folds Out Mezhenkov

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Action was on the river with a board reading 71065J and a pot of around 450,000 in it.

Uri Reichenstein bet 500,000, which was for the vast majority of Oleksii Mezkenkov's stack who went into the tank. Eventually the clock had to be called and Mezhenkov got rid of his cards before the countdown began.
