Walter Chambers raised from the cutoff and was called by Ismael Bojang on the button and Patrick Moulder in the big blind. Chambers drew two cards, Moulder one, and Bojang two.
Chambers then continued with another bet and received two calls. Moulder decided to stay pat, while the other two players drew one.
Moulders then bet, Chambers called, and Bojang raised. Moulders folded his pat hand but Chambers called the extra bet and exchanged one.
Bojang stood pat and won the pot when Chambers check-folded to his final bet.
Meanwhile, on another table, Nick Guagenti was eliminated from the tournament, leaving the field on the stone bubble.
Action was picked up between two players after the first draw. Ryan Hoenig checked from the hijack and called a bet from Matthew Schreiber who was on the button. Schreiber stood pat while Hoenig took one.
After the second draw Hoenig check-called another bet from Schreiber and drew one while Schreiber stood pat again.
With no draws remaining Schreiber bet, putting himself all in in the process, and Hoenig called. Schreiber tabled an eight-badugi with 8♥7♦4♠3♣ and doubled up.
Action was picked up between two players just after the first draw. Bariscan Betil checked from under the gun and called a bet from Haoyu Wang who was on the button and had just put himself all in with the bet. Wang stood pat twice while Betil drew one twice.
Betil had made a seven with 7x6x4x3xAx but Wang had seven-perfect with 7x4x3x2xAx to score a full double up through Betil just two spots away from the money bubble.
Julien Martini raised his button and Anderson Ireland defended his big blind. Ireland drew two cards on the first draw and Martini drew one.
Ireland then check-called Martini's bet before drawing one, and Martini stood pat. The same sequence happened once more, after which Ireland check-folded to Martini's bet after his draws had been used up.
Life Outside Poker is a new podcast for PokerNews hosted by Connor Richards that seeks to pull back the curtain on poker players and allow viewers and listeners to get to know them on a personal level.
In the eighth episode, Connor speaks with legendary UFC ring announcer Bruce Buffer in an exclusive in-depth interview after Buffer's deep run in the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) $50,000 High Roller. Buffer, a longtime poker player, finished in eighth place for a career-best $212,423 after kicking off Day 3 with his trademark "it's time" introduction.
Buffer talked about finding his long-lost half-brother, Michael Buffer, and becoming his manager, the early days of the UFC, the similarities between poker and martial arts, his relationships with Joe Rogan and Dana White, playing poker with Tobey Maguire and Leonardo DiCaprio and the time he injured himself in a poker tournament before announcing the biggest UFC fight in history.
