Eskandari Here to Reclaim Title

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Joanne Miner who is here from a seat she won with her ladies group in Phoenix , "The Phoenix Desert Sharks," raised from early position to 300. Massoud Eskandari, who won this tournament in 2022 and here to reclaim the title, three-bet to 1,200 and Miner made the call.

The flop came out Q10J and Miner checked. Eskandari bet out 1,400. Miner folded and showed 99 and Eskandari obliged and showed KK.

Eskandari stated, "It was a set hunt".

Ward Takes it Down on the Turn

On a flop of 573, the action had checked to the early position player who bet 600. Cindy Ward then raised to 1,600, which got a few players to fold, but the player in early position called.

When the 6 fell on the turn, the action checked to Ward who fired a bet of 1,600, which was enough to earn her the pot as her opponent folded.

Glass Gets Respect

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Danny Glass raised to 700 from middle position, and was called by a player in the cutoff, and the small blind.

The flop came 2A4 and Glass bet out 1,100 and was called by the cutoff. The small blind folded, leaving the two players heads up.

The 7 came on the turn and Glass bet out 2,200. After giving it some thought the player in the cutoff said "Ace-king or queen?" and folded AxJx face up. Glass responds with "king" and threw his cards into the muck as he took in the pot.

Wieser Flops a Set

All the chips were in the middle and the cards were on their backs in a pot between Brian Wieser and the cutoff.

The board read 102A3K with the small blind having flipped A10 for two pair, but Wieser held 22 for bottom set and took the pot.

Cozion Picks up Chips Early

A player under the gun raised to 300 and a player in the cutoff called. Rob Cozion three-bet to 1,000 from the small blind. The big blind folded, the under the gun player called, and the cutoff folded, leaving the players heads up.

The flop came 597 and Cozion bet 1,000 and was called by the player under the gun.

After the J on the turn, the under the gun player called another bet for 1,000 from Cozion.

The river was the 2 and Cozion bet 6,000 and got a fold, to take down a pot early into the day.

Germaniuk Gets Aces Early

On a board of 4J7, Ray Germaniuk and the small blind each put in 2,300 chips on the flop.

A 7 fell on the turn and the small blind check-called a bet of 1,000 from Germaniuk.

Both players checked the 4 river.

The small blind flipped over QJ but Germaniuk had the winner with AA.
