On a nearby table, Owen Messere was deep into the tank in a tough river spot. With 7,600 in the pot on the 10♠7♠5♠7♦3♠ board, Roberto Perez checked from the big blind. Owen Messere made an overbet of 12,000. Perez sprung into life, raising to 115,000, almost 200 big blinds.
