Deuces Hold for Gorham to Eliminate Higgins

Level 18 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
James Gorham
James Gorham

With only 30,000 chips remaining, Matthew Higgins raised all-in and James Gorham in the big blind called.

Matthew Higgins K8 All in
James Gorham 22

The flop was no help for Higgins when it ran out 653, however the 9 turn did give Higgins some extra outs. Now being able to hit a seven for a straight, to go along with a king or an eight. Unfortunately for Higgins, the river was the 10, and the deuces held for Gorham, and he eliminated Higgins from the tournament.

Gorham will face the winner of the Michael Shi and Nikolai Mamut match, tomorrow in round three.

Kane Kalas called the 6,000 big blind, and Kevin Rabichow went all-in for 106,000. After taking a few seconds to contemplate, Kalas made the call and put Rabichow at risk.

The flop of 542 didn't bring any backdoor outs for Rabichow, and the 7 on the turn left him needing a king or queen to stay alive. The A on the river gave Kalas a pair of aces, and officially eliminated Rabichow from the tournament.

Kalas will play Owen Messere in round 3 when play resumes tomorrow.
