Several players bowed out within a few minutes and among them was also Stephen Chidwick, who saw his hopes vanish in a clash with Tom Dwan.
Chidwick was at risk with a short stack holding the A♥A♠10♣3♣. Dwan was trailing with the A♣K♠Q♥J♦ but the 10♥9♠8♦8♠Q♦ runout gave Dwan a straight.
Tom-Aksel Bedell and Christian Harder had seen a flop of 6♣J♦A♦ with just over 200,000 chips in the pot. Both players ended up getting their stacks into the middle but it was Bedell at risk for his last 540,000.

Bedell had a Royal Flush draw and needed to hit it as the J♣ turn improved Harder to top boat. No miracle one-outer appeared on the Q♠ river, which meant Bedell was sent to the rail.
Max Lehmanski limped from the cutoff and Christian Harder raised to 135,000 on the button. Action folded back to Lehmanski, who called.
The flop came 3♠10♠Q♦ and Lehmanski bet the size of the pot. Harder shoved to put Lehmanski all in and Lehmanski called all in for 385,000 total.

The 8♠ turn gave Lehmanski a flush and an irrelevant K♣ completed the board to award Lehmanski the double up.
Evan Krentzman limped in and Jake White raised the pot to 140,000 in the next seat. Once it folded back to White, he repotted and then called a shove by Krentzman.

The kings never found any help on the Q♥5♦3♥6♠8♣ runout to send Krentzman to the rail. Moments later, Alex Difelice departed from a nearby table to reduce the field to the last 46 players.
Tomer Daniel raised and earned a call from Matthew Kolibas. Tom-Aksel Bedell then three-bet the pot and Daniel went all-in over the top to force out Kolibas.
"My hand is not so good, but ..." Bedell said and called all-in, then added "I have spades and diamonds" when he exposed the A♦K♠3♠2♦. Daniel had hearts and clubs with the A♣K♥8♥8♣ and they ended up chopping on the 7♠7♣6♦Q♦K♣ runout.
On a flop of 6♥4♥2♣, Elie Nakache checked, Brian Rast bet 115,000, Nakache check-raised to 400,000, and Rast called.
The turn brought an 8♦ and Nakache potted it for 1,145,000. Rast wasted no time in shoving all in, and Nakache called off the remaining 150,000 chips that he had behind.

Rast had turned top set and just needed to fade the straight draw of his opponent. No help arrived for Nakache as the Q♣ fell on the river, which meant he was eliminated, and Rast surged into the chip lead.
Max Lehmanski limped the button and Christian Harder in the small blind asked for his stack size before raising the pot to 120,000. Lehmanski called and they checked the Q♥J♠9♥ flop. After the 3♠ turn, Harder bet the pot and Lehmanski let go,
On a board of 6♦9♠2♦9♥, there were around 500,000 chips in the pot when both Elie Nakache and Kahle Burns decided to check.
The river brought a 3♥ and Burns fired 350,000. After some time thinking, Nakache announced a pot-sized raise, and Burns folded before Nakache could get the chips in.
Tom-Aksel Bedell already had a raise of 285,000 in front of him on the button and Christian Harder shoved for 725,000 total from the big blind.
Bedell asked for a count and put in a reluctant call to put Harder at risk.

Clemens von Blanckenburg three-bet the pot and then called all-in with the K♣K♥8♥7♣. He was up against Q♣J♣10♥3♥ and had little to fear on a board of 8♣5♦4♥K♦A♣ after turning top set.
