Action picked up on a board showing 10♣7♦3♠4♥ in a hand between Charles Honkonen of Team Hopkins in the small blind and a player in early position.
The pot was bloated with more than 400,000 in the middle and the players were waiting on the river card.
The dealer placed 8♠ on the board, and with it came high drama.
Honkonen checked, and his opponent bet most of his stack of 120,500, leaving 500 behind.
Honkonen asked the dealer for a count, and the dealer confirmed the amount of the bet. The wager put Honkonen deep in the tank. He first counted out the amount and separated it off to the side of his team’s chip stack. Honkonen then stared at the board for a few moments before shifting his attention to his opponent, who was motionless.
Honkonen then leaned back in his chair and quietly talked the hand through, shaking his head a few times. He leaned forward, looked at his opponent one more time before reaching down to grab the 120,500 in chips to move them forward for a call.
His opponent tabled A♣Q♠ for ace high. Honkonen triumphantly tabled A♦4♦ for a pair of fours for the win, which left his opponent with just 500.
“I tried,” Honkonen’s opponent said before tapping the table in Honkonen’s direction.
The dealer pushed the massive pot to Team Hopkins, whose chip stack swelled to 1,500,000.

Action picked up with Sheraton Hall involved in a hand against two opponents on a board showing 3♣8♠3♠.
A player in the small blind and a player in early position checked to Hall, who was in position.
Hall reached into her stack and grabbed a full barrel of 1,000 chips before pushing it forward for a 20,000 bet. The player in the small blind called, while the player in early position folded.
The dealer placed 10♣ on the turn, and the player in the small blind and Hall checked.
The 6♥ on the river brought fireworks.
After the player in the small blind checked, Hall moved all in for her team’s remaining 50,000.
The player in the small blind went in the tank, and counted out 50,000 from his stack. A call resulting in a loss would leave the player in the small blind with crumbs. He looked across the table at Hall, who was motionless.
After a few moments passed, the opponent made the call and Hall tabled 6♣6♠ for a full house and the winning hand.
