Joao Vieira
Joao Vieira

In a battle of the blinds, Joao Vieira raised and Viktor Blom called. As they headed to the 952 flop, Vieira bet 280,000 and Blom moved all-in for Vieira to call with both players holding near even stacks.

Joao Vieira: AK65 All in

The 3 turn kept Vieira with some hope but Blom improved to a flush on the 8 river. Both stack sizes were counted and the 630,000 by Vieira were covered by one blind only.

Shortly after the final five tables were reached, Phil Ivey was eliminated to reduce the field to the last 39 hopefuls.

Katz Jams Up His Stack With a Set

Level 17 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Cary Katz raised to 125,000 from early position and Isaac Kempton in late position on the other side of the dealer asked how much he was playing since Katz's stack was not in twenties. The pot-sized three-bet to 435,000 by Kempton followed and it folded back to Katz, who instantly declared all-in.

Kempton snap-folded and Katz said "I have a set" before flashing the AAA5.

Level 18 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Danny Tang
Danny Tang

Danny Tang repotted to get called by Jonathan Azoulay, who then checked and reluctantly called the shove by Tang for 150,000 on the K85 flop.

Danny Tang: AA32 All in
Jonathan Azoulay: JJ107

Azoulay hit running cards to a straight with the 9 turn and 6 river, but the same runout also gave Tang the nut flush for the double.

In the meanwhile, Raphael Schreiner and Dirk Gerritse lost their short stacks in the same hand against Isaac Kempton. Their cards were already in the muck when Kempton raked in the pot, having rivered a set of deuces with QQ22 on a 108792 runout.

According to Schreiner on the rail, he went down with KxKx5x4x while Gerritse had AxXx8x3x.

On the subsequent JQ3 flop, both players checked. The 4 arrived on the turn and Collopy checked again before Haxton bet the pot of 745,000.

A quick fold followed from Collopy as Haxton chipped up.

Sean Winter: AK66 All in
Joshua Ladines: K1092

Ladines had flopped a wrap and turned a flush draw with the 3. However, Winter's pair of sixes neatly held on the 2 river to secure his double-up.

Suvarna and Haxton Play a Big One

Level 19 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

In a hand that lasted well into the break, even seeing the break extended by a couple of minutes, Santhosh Suvarna had defended his big blind against Ike Haxton's raise.

Suvarna then check-called Haxton's bet on Q910 flop before leading out for 345,000 on the 10 turn. Haxton called and the 3 river completed the board.

Suvarna slowed down and checked, after which Haxton put him all in for his final 450,000 chips. Suvarna tanked for some time before eventually letting his hand go and taking the couple of minutes that were left on his break.
