Jofre Picks Up Queens on the Last Hand

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Tournament officials had just made an announcement congratulating players on making it to Day 2, but that proved to be a jinx for one player at Robin Jofre's table.

He moved all in for his last 13,000 from under the gun and Jofre called in middle position to put him at risk.

All-In Player: K9 All in
Robin Jofre: QQ

The at-risk player was looking for help to stay alive, but the board ran out A9224 and they improved no further than their flopped pair of nines as Jofre sent him to the rail on the last hand of the night.

Eric Welch
Eric Welch

Heads-up on a board of AQ23, Eric Welch bet 12,500 from early position before the small blind moved all in for 41,000. Welch took several minutes before calling to put his opponent at risk.

Welch had 86 for a flush, while his opponent showed AQ for top two pair and the nut flush draw. The river was the 7 and the small blind missed all of his outs as he headed to the rail with just a few minutes left in the day.

Seidel Stacks Stonoff

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Action was picked up on a 37K42 board with 69,200 in the middle.

Erik Seidel fired 40,000 into the middle from under the gun and action was on Brian Stonoff in middle position who had 38,000 behind. Stonoff was in the tank and eventually put his stack in the middle for a call. Seidel flipped over KK and it was good against Stonoff's AA.

Fossilman's Tournament Comes to an End

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Greg Raymer
Greg Raymer

Greg Raymer found himself at risk from under the gun for 33,300 against Gabriel Penescu in middle position with the biggest stack of all and Adam Curchak on the button, who moved all-in for his last 8,600.

Adam Curchak: 99 All in
Greg Raymer: JJ All in
Gabriel Penescu: AA

Penescu was on his way to score a double elimination after the flop of 883, but Curchak was lucky enough to hit the 9 on the turn to get a full house. The 8 on the river gave a boat to all three players, but it wasn't enough to save Raymer who was eliminated.

The 2004 WSOP Main Event champion kindly put his signature on his fossil and offered it to Penescu before taking a last picture with him and leaving the tournament area.
