Charles Russell Elimination
Charles Russell Elimination

Charles Russell raised to 2,500,000 chips as first to act, leaving only 500,000 behind. Malo Latinois called in the cutoff before the rest of the table got out of the way.

The flop fell 44J, on which Russell pushed in his last chips. Latinois quickly called and the pair showed down.

Charles Russell: A8 All in
Malo Latinois: AK

Russell had flopped some chop opportunities, but the 39 runout secured the pot in Latinois' favor and sent out Russell as the final elimination of the night.

Level 36 : Blinds 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante

Yake Wu

Malcolm Franchi opened to 1,600,000 on the button and then called with the covering stack after Yake Wu moved all in for 9,800,000 out of the small blind.

Yake Wu: 55 All in
Malcolm Franchi: KQ

It was a flip with massive implications for tournament equity. Wu maintained his slender lead on the A67 flop but the K turn paired up Franchi to leave Wu with one foot out the door. The 2 river changed nothing, sending Wu to the rail in 20th place.

Kyosuke Nagami moved all in for 11,000,000 from early position and was looked up by Malcolm Franchi in the small blind.

Kyosuke Nagami: A9 All in
Malcolm Franchi: AK

Nagami was dominated and would need significant help to survive. The 102Q flop was not what the at risk player was looking for. The 5 turn left Nagami hoping to hit one of his three outs on the river but the 5 completed the board instead to bring his deep run to an end in 21st place.

Brian Rast: AQ All in
Jonathan Tamayo: KK

The 992 flop gave Rast some back door outs with the superior flush and that hope remained with the 3 turn. "One time. One fuckin time, do it for the kids," could be heard from the table.

What followed was the K on the river and Tamayo improved to kings full of nines to send the WSOP Poker Hall of Fame member to the rail in 24th place for $350,000.
