2024 World Series of Poker
Eider Cruz, who had already been whittled down to a short stack, opened to 8,000 on the button and then moved all in after Brandon Crawford three-bet to 22,000 out of the small blind. Crawford quickly called to put his opponent at risk.
Eider Cruz: A♥Q♣
Brandon Crawford: A♦K♣
Cruz was dominated and would need significant help to survive. None came on the 7♠5♣A♠A♣3♠ runout to hand Crawford the pot and knockout while forcing Cruz to the exits.
Nicholas Dagnillo had moved in for his stack of 33,500 chips from the cutoff and was looked up by Paulina Loeliger in the big blind.
Nicholas Dagnillo: K♥10♣
Paulina Loeliger: A♣8♠
Loeliger's ace became the best kicker on the double-paired 7♥9♦7♦Q♥9♠ board to send Dagnillo to the rail.
Derek Nold had his entire stack of around 55,000 in the middle from the hijack and had been called by [Removed:496] on the button & the big blind.
On the 10♠6♦5♦ flop, the big blind checked, Sopotnytskyi bet 75,000, and the big blind folded.
Derek Nold: A♣10♦
[Removed:496]: Q♦Q♠
Nold was looking to improve but neither the 2♥ turn nor K♣ river could keep him alive.
As the river was dealt, the big blind slammed his fist onto the table and revealed that he had A♠K♠.
"I should have shoved over you pre," said the big blind.
Alexey Badulin got 173,500 chips in the middle preflop against Fernando Rodriguez, who had a slightly covering stack, and Logan Moon, who was shorter.
Logan Moon: J♥J♣
Alexey Badulin: A♠A♥
Fernando Rodriguez: K♠K♦
The board ran out an uneventful 7♣6♥4♣9♣8♠ to let Badulin's aces hold as he raked in the pot of 100 big blinds.
The action was caught as Dwayne Pelham, in the cutoff, was all in and at risk for his effective stack of 40,500, against Marcelo Giordano, in middle position.
Dwayne Pelham: 3♥3♣
Marcelo Giordano: A♣K♣
The dealer fanned the action flop of 8♣10♣3♦; Pelham had made a set, but Giordano picked up outs to a flush draw. The Q♥ turn gave Giordano even more outs to make Broadway.
"Don't do me like that," Pelham politely said to the dealer. However, the J♣ river did not oblige, completing Giordano's flush.
"Straight flush!" Giordano joked to the table.
