Farha Is Best at Showdown

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Sam Farha
Sam Farha

A player in early position raised to 2,000, receiving four calls from Sam Farha in middle position, the button and both the blinds.

The A55 flop saw the action check to Farha, who bet out 2,000. Only the button and the original raiser called.

The 6 turn saw a repeat of the action, this time Farha sized up to 6,000.

All three players checked the 4 river to a showdown. The button tabled A3, prompting the player in early position to muck. However, Farha tabled A10 to out kick his opponent and take down this pot.

Tarango Going for Another Deep Run

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Billy Tarango was under the gun and raised to 2,000 and both the blinds made the call. The flop came out 9Q4 and Tarango made the continuation bet of 3,000 after the blinds checked. The small blind called and the big blind folded.

On the turn A the small blind moved all in for 20,000 effective and Tarango called.

Billy Tarango: AJ All in
Small blind: QJ

The small blind held a pair of queens with the flush draw and Tarango had the pair of aces. The river K did not change the result and Tarango raked in a nice pot. Tarango made a deep run in Event #73: $25,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha (8-Handed), achieving 6th place.

Bahranipoor Strikes Again

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

After a preflop betting war with a fellow big stack, all of the chips found their way into the middle between Joseph Bahranipoor and another player, with Bahranipoor covering.

Player: AKAll in
Joseph Bahranipoor: KQ

Bahranipoor needed some help to come out ahead with his dominated hand, but the deck found a way as the flop came out QQ9 to give him a huge lead with trip queens. Only a running straight or aces could save the at-risk player, but the turn 3 left him dead in the water and the 4 sent him shaking his head all the way to the exit.

Hand One:

The player under the gun raised to 2,000, the player in middle position called and Joshua Kublnick, in the big blind, squeezed to 8,000. The original raiser thought about his decision before finally making the fold, as did the player in middle position.

Hand Two:

The very next hand, the button raised to 2,000. Kublnick, now in the small blind, wasn't done showing aggression and put in a three-bet to 6,000, earning another frustrated fold.
