Moments before the Day 3 dinner break in the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, controversy struck at one table inside the Horseshoe Event Center.
As the field was heading to break, a possible angle-shoot occurred, and another player who wasn't even in the hand had to be escorted out of the room and was penalized.
Action was caught on the river with the board reading: 9♦Q♥9♠2♦4♠. Chino Rheem checked and his opponent on the button bet 7,000 into a pot of just over 15,000.
The bet prompted Rheem to talk to himself, and partly his opponent, about him just having it, ‘it’ being at least Qx9x. He took a few moments and then made the call.
The button told him it was a good call and Rheem flipped over K♥10♥9♣4♣ for flopped trips and nines full of fours on the river.

After checking through the flop of 3♦10♣8♠, Ariel Mazabow bet 2,400 on the turn K♥ after a check from his opponent, Ben Ludlow.
Ludlow called the bet and the two continued to the river 3♥, which saw Ludlow lead for 7,500.
Mazabow thought for a few moments but eventually made the call. Ludlow showed Q♠J♦9♠5♦ for a bricked wrap while Mazabow tabled A♠A♥Q♥8♥ for a big two pair to take the pot.

Jeremy Ausmus limped in from the hijack, the small blind completed and the big blind checked their option.
All three players checked to the river as the full board now read 10♥J♥2♦K♣A♠. The action checked to Ausmus, who bet out 1,000. The small blind called and the big blind folded.
Ausmus tabled A♦J♦9♣4♠ for two pair. The small blind mucked the A♣ face up as Ausmus raked in the pot.

Four players saw the flop of 6♦9♠3♥. The small blind checked. The player under the gun bet the pot and Jeremy Ausmus in the hijack raised pot to around 25,000 chips. The player on the button folded, as did the small blind. Under the gun had a bit more left and raised all in, which Ausmus called.
Under the gun: 10♣6♠5♦7♣
Jeremy Ausmus: K♠8♠9♦7♥
Ausmus, who is sitting at a chatty table and has been quite generous with strategy tips as of late, had the best of it with top pair, the open-ender and one backdoor flush draw. His opponent had middle pair and a double gutshot to a four or an eight.
The turn was the A♦ and the river 9♥, giving Ausmus the trips, a knockout and a pot of close to 60,000 chips.

The pot stood at 4,300 with three players looking at a flop of 4♠5♠10♥.
Both the blinds checked the action to the cutoff, who bet out 2,000. The small blind folded and Scott Shafer, in the big blind, check-raised to 8,000. The cutoff called.
The 5♦ turn saw Shafer announce pot, betting out for 21,300. The cutoff was forced to fold.
