As level 7 begins, the defending champion Magnus Edengren has been spotted among this year's contenders. The Swedish player earned a career high score last year with $196,970 on top of his first WSOP bracelet. He defeated 853 runners, as well as a final table that included 17-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth.
Edengren's poker tournament career dates back to 2007, with all but one of his WSOP cashes being in Omaha variants. The recreational player had said in his winner's interview last year that he plays the game for fun.
