Blaise Bourgeois Reporter/Poker Player
Today marks Blaise Bourgeois’s third event of the summer, and he’s already off to a strong start after cashing in Event #10: $600 No-Limit Hold’em Deepstack. With plenty more tournaments on his schedule, Bourgeois is taking a smarter approach this year, making sleep a top priority as he navigates the long days of the World Series of Poker.
He’s especially looking forward to Event #20: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em SHOOTOUT and Event #65: $1,000 TAG TEAM No-Limit Hold’em, where he’ll be teaming up with his girlfriend. Bourgeois is a fan of the shootout format, noting that it allows for more targeted research and makes studying optimal play more straightforward.
When he’s not on the felt, Bourgeois embraces everything he loves about Las Vegas—especially the heat. He enjoys the desert weather so much, he wouldn’t hesitate to go for a run in it. Just as important to him are the friendships he’s built over the years with fellow WSOP players from around the globe—bonds that make the series feel like a homecoming every summer.
