Pedro Claus shoved from under the gun for 1,725,000 for Kheang Tang to make the call with the bigger stack from the hijack while the rest of the table folded.
Pedro Claus: K♦2♣
Kheang Tang: K♠K♣
The board ran out 8♥10♦Q♦10♥4♦ for Tang to hold with the pocket kings for two pair and an elimination to his name.
He got up from his chair to tell that he had won a hand just before when he held pocket queens and his opponent had ace-jack. The board ran out with an ace on the flop, a jack on the turn but a queen appeared on the river.
Loc Tu moved all in from a middle position for around 900,000 and got a single call from Pierre Gue to his direct left.
Loc Tu: 10♦10♠
Pierre Gue: K♣6♠
Tu was looking to hold to stay alive and make the payjump and the 8♣J♣7♣9♥2♥ runout secured him a double.
In the next hand, Tu was all in again for 2,150,000 and Gue took around 2 minutes and decided to fold only after the clock was called, chipping up Tu again to 3,150,000. Leaving Gue with 4,150,000.
Some table talk was shared between players saying "that must have been a close one", "you had pocket tens?".
In the next hand, Gue moved all in for his remaining stack from the small blind and got a call from Morgan Ravail who only just had him covered in the big blind.
Pierre Gue: A♠10♣
Morgan Ravail: K♠Q♦
Both players missed on the 7♠9♥4♥5♥6♦ with very little sweat for either player. Gue took the pot with Ace high and left Ravail with only 300,000.
Ravail was in the small blind in the next hand and with an open just before him, Ravail decided to fold, leaving himself only 100,000 chips to play with.
Big stack Ramaswamy Pyloore opened to 800,000 from early position. It folded to Stavros Petychakis in the big blind, who three-bet to 2,450,000. Pyloore called, and the 4♣Q♥9♣ flop was spread.
Petychakis continued for 1,300,000, which Pyloore called after confirming the amount. The 3♥ turn saw Petychakis size up to 1,750,000, but this time Pyloore quickly moved all in.
Petychakis had 3,400,000 chips behind. He quickly folded, preserving the eight big blinds he left himself.
At the end of the previous level, Rena Varghese raised to 1,000,000 from the middle position and called by James Morris in the cutoff.
They both checked through the K♣5♥Q♥ on the flop to the 2♦ on the turn. Varghese announced a bet of 2,000,000 but only put out one chip of 500,000. The rest of the table corrected her and she added on three more chips but Morris didn't agree and asked for a ruling.
He claimed he heard her announce "two" but only put out one chip. The floor listened to his claim and ruled as the minimum bet was 400,000, the bet of 2,000,000 was what is was. Morris shook his head, looked at his cards, counted out his stack, and then reluctantly folded.
Adam Croffut had put in his final 75,000 chips from early position. Andrew Tang then rejammed for about 4,300,000 from the hijack, and Stavros Petychakis called off his stack of 3,400,000 in the hijack.
Table chipleader Ramaswamy Pyloore was in the small blind, calling to put the other three players at risk of elimination.
Adam Croffut: A♦6♥
Stavros Petychakis: A♠10♥
Andrew Tang: K♠Q♠
Ramaswamy Pyloore: J♠J♥
Tang shot ahead on the 10♦3♦Q♥ flop with his pair of queens. The 5♠ turn had Croffut drawing dead, while the J♦ river provided Pyloore with one of two outs to take down the pot and knock out all three players, much to the amazement of the many onlookers that had gathered.
Thanh Duong got his stack of about 5,500,000 in from the small blind against Ryan Leng in the big blind, who had him covered.
Thanh Duong: A♠J♣
Ryan Leng: 7♦7♣
Duong flopped best on 2♣A♦5♥, but Leng retaliated on the 7♠ turn as his set left Duong without any outs. The 2♦ river was rendered meaningless as Duong was sent to the rail.
