Duffy Rues Firestone Fold

Only one table remained nine-handed in Level 5 of the SHOOTOUT's Day 2, however some preflop madness was ready to change that completely. Joe Kuether open-shoved from middle position, only for Ciaran Duffy to put him at risk by reshoving in the lojack. Small blind Drake Kemper, covering Duffy by around 40,000, decided his hand was good enough to get in there as well.
Despite all this action, it seemed as though there may have been more to come, as big blind Eric Firestone seemed to be in the blender, and was completely unsure whether to muck or play for it all. Despite covering all three, he relinquished his cards, announcing that he "folded ace-king."
Joe Kuether: 10♥10♣
Ciaran Duffy: Q♠Q♥
Drake Kemper: A♠J♠
It was revealed that Duffy had the best of it, and his flopped set on 2♥Q♣9♦ had the other players drawing to runner runner. The 6♣ sealed his near triple up, leaving the 3♣ river inconsequential. Duffy couldn't have asked for anything more, except maybe for Firestone wanting to gamble a little more. Kemper, left with only four big blinds, went on to bust the next hand.
