Ordet Loses Out to Backdoors

Level 21 : Blinds 0/0, 20,000 ante

4810QJ
83942

Kevin Ordet had been left very short-stacked and pushed his remaining 65,000 chips into a pot made up of 160,000 in antes. He received the opportunity to quadruple up, only having to beat one opponent, as Matthias Kribben was the sole player who paid to see the runout.

Ordet's 9832 seemed strong, as he ran into a queen-high straight on top, and held four pairs on the bottom, of which nines and eights made up his hand, with a four kicker. On the flop, Kribben had an inside wrap on top, along with a low weapon bottom. Neither of these draws came to fruition, but he picked up the scoop in other ways, as he went runner-runner twice for a flush on top, along with a six-high straight on bottom to scoop
