Stranak Scoops with Straight

Michael Garner open-shoved the flop and received a call from next to act Samuel Stranak. Bernardo Tavares then decided to go all in for 131,000, and after a minute or so in the blender, Samuel Stranak made the call.

Tavares showed Q♠J♦10♠9♥ for a wrap that ended up bricking, as he got to the river with just a pair on top, and two on the bottom.

The other two players were both playing the bottom board on the flop, as Stranak had A♣8♣5♠4♥ and Garner was holding the same hand on that board, with A♦8♠6♠2♣.

Garner took a brutal beat as Stranak both turned a full house, then rivered an unnecessary one, as he took down the bottom board. Despite Tavares holding all the straight outs, it was Stranak who somehow ran into one as the top board ended up with him holding the nuts, sending both players to the rail.

Matthias Kribben, Kevin Ordet, and Ryan Otto all put in 25,000 on the flop to see the turns, then Kribben led out for 150,000. Ordet folded, and Otto potted to 609,000. Kribben had about that remaining but shoved just to make sure, and Otto called.

Kribben had turned the nut straight on the top and Otto had turned a full house on the bottom. Otto had a freeroll with a bigger straight draw on the top, but the rivers bricked out and they chopped it up.

The flop was checked through and when the turns hit, Tyler Levin bet 54,000 from the small blind. Miguel Proulx called a few seats over.

When the rivers landed, Levin quickly checked and Proulx just as quickly bet 100,000. Levin announced a call and tabled Q♦J♠10♦6♣ for a flush on the top and a pair on the bottom. Proulx flipped Q♠8♠7♣2♦ for the nut straight on the bottom, meaning they chopped up the pot.
