Arutyunyan Agressive Play With Kings Pays Off

Level 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

In the pot were around 177,000. The flop showed 9Q9. Dawn Mougel was already all in, and Serozh Arutyunyan checked in the big blind position to Anthony Ibrahim, who was sitting in the middle position and led out a bet of 20,000. Arutyunyan made the call.

On the 7 turn, it was again Ibrahim who fired another bet, this time for 53,000. But Arutyunyan decided to check-raise to 128,000. Ibrahim checked his cards multiple times before he made the call.

When the dealer turned the 2, Arutyunyan took the lead and fired a hefty bet of 256,000. Ibrahim took his time, weighing his options, but decided to fold, leading to a showdown between Mougel and Arutyunyan. Mougle had 75 for two pair nines and sevens but Arutyunyan turned KK for two pair kings and nines and scooped the sizeable main and sifepot, sending Mougel to the rail.
