Seif Firing a Second Bullet

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Logan Anderson raised from the hijack to 300, and Dean Hutchinson made the call from the button. Mark Seif also made the call from the small blind, and it was a three-way pot to the flop.

The flop came out with 256, and Seif checked to the preflop raiser, Anderson, who continued with a bet of 1,200. Hutchinson folded, and Seif pulled the check-raise and bet 2,600. Anderson called.

On the turn 3 Seif led out for 4,500 and Anderson moved all in for 32,400, which had Seif covered by a small margin. Seif contemplated and then made the call.

Mark Seif: 53 All in
Logan Anderson: 65

Both players were sitting with two pair, with Anderson having the better two pair, and the river 7 did not give Seif any help, as he announced, "Rebuy."

Matthew Hunt raised to 300 from early position and was called by Eran Malkin in middle position. Chris Hunichen then three-bet to 1,500 from the small blind, and both players made the call.

The dealer fanned a 1085 flop, Hunichen bet 2,000, Hunt folded and Malkin called.

Hunichen bet 2,500 when the K came on the turn. Malkin once again made the call.

Both players checked on the 8 river card. Hunichen tabled A10 which beat Malkins QJ

Welcome to Day 1 of Event #29: $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em

Colin Robinson

Welcome back to PokerNews, the official media partner of the 2025 World Series of Poker and home of live updates from all bracelet events.

Mid-stakes action is the order of the day from 12:00 p.m. local time when Event #29: $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em shuffles up and deals. This three-day event allows for a solitary reentry by the end of the 12th level (~10:00 p.m.).

Cards are in the air from noon, with each entrant armed with 35,000 chips. Blinds increase every 40 minutes on Day 1 before extending to 60 minutes from Day 2 onward. The plan for the first day is to complete 17 levels, with a 20-minute break every three levels. Anyone reaching the end of Level 9 (~6:40 p.m.) can head off to enjoy a 60-minute dinner break.

Surviving players return to the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas at 12:00 p.m. local time on June 9. As levels will be an hour long, only 10 levels are planned for the second day. Fifteen-minute breaks occur every two levels, plus a 60-minute dinner break after Level 23 (~6:30 p.m.). PokerNews will update the start time for Day 3 once that information becomes available.

The 2025 edition of this event is only the third of its kind. Samuel Bernabeu topped a 2,068-strong field in 2023, with American Colin Robinson coming out on top in 2024. Robinson left 2,228 opponents in his wake as he got his hands on a career-best $667,963 and the first WSOP bracelet of his career.

Robinson really started believing he would become the tournament's champion with only four players remaining. Speaking to PokerNews shortly after his victory, Robinson said, "Once we got to four-handed, I felt very confident that I was gonna win. I was thinking some of [the other players] wanted to get some pay jumps. And I kind of just got the hands and was running good."
