Usterud Rivered Set Cracks Weng’s Bluff, Buzgon Busted

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Stian Usterud opened the action from under the gun with a raise to 50,000. It folded around to Daniel Buzgon in middle position, who only had 5,000 behind and moved all in. Both blinds called the initial raise, and the three went to the flop.

The dealer spread 2KQ, and after both blinds checked, Usterud continued for 50,000. Only big blind Bin Weng made the call to see the turn.

The A hit the felt, and Weng checked again. Usterud ramped up the pressure with a bet of 200,000, but Weng wasn't done yet and stuck around with a call.

The river brought the J, and this time Weng led out, jamming for about 530,000. Usterud took a moment before tossing in the call. Weng showed Q4 for just a pair of queens, but Usterud tabled JJ for a rivered set of jacks to win the pot. Buzgon quietly mucked and hit the rail.

White Loses the Flip

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Jake White open-shoved all-in in late position and got called by Michael Scarborough in the big blind.

Jake White: AQ All in
Michael Scarborough: 77

It was quite unfortunate that White wasn't able to hit his overcards on the board 38K57. And with Scarborough catching a set on the river, White's fate was sealed. He headed to the payout counter as Scarborough scooped the pot.

Obara Outkicks Buzgon

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Joseph Carden opened for 50,000 and got a three-bet from Daniel Buzgon to 175,000 on the button. Jun Obara four-bet shoved all-in for about 195,000. Carden folded but Buzgon made the call leaving only one 5,000-chip behind.

Jun Obara: AK All in
Daniel Buzgon: AQ

The flop came 5A10 giving both players a pair of ace but with Obara having the better kicker. The runout 26 didn't change anything. Obara scooped the pot as Buzgon flipped his last chip between his fingers.

A poker player was given a one-round penalty deep in a 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) event for swearing at a floor manager after refusing to color up.

Tyler Brown, a 2023 bracelet winner, is the player in question. He wasn't frustrated following a bad beat. The penalized poker pro was among the chip leaders at the time in Event #28: $600 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha Deepstack with around 30 players remaining out of 1,499 entries on Monday.

Graner Flushes Oganyan Out of Pot

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

On a pot of about 120,000 and a completed board of KQJ23, action was waiting for Stephen Graner on the button after Aram Oganyan bet 61,000.

Graner was taking his time to consider his option but finally decided to go beyond and make it 335,000. Oganyan announced a call without hesitation. Graner tabled J7 for flush.

Oganyan mucked his hand as he shook his head. Visibly frustrated, he matched the last bet and was left with only about ten big blinds behind.
