Vohra’s Top Pair Good Against Sitbon

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Rajesh Vohra opened the action with a raise to 6,500 from the button, and only Julien Sitbon in the big blind came along to see the flop.

The dealer spread 3KA, and Sitbon checked. Vohra continued with a bet of 10,000, which Sitbon called without much delay.

The Q hit the turn, and the action followed the same pattern. Sitbon checked, Vohra fired again, this time for 17,000, and Sitbon made the call once more.

Both players slowed down on the 8 river, checking it through. Vohra revealed AJ for top pair, and Sitbon mucked his cards without showing.

Aces Hold for Liu’s Double-Up

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Xiaohu Liu opened the action from the hijack for 5,500 and picked up calls from Paul Snead on the button and Ichun Chiu in the big blind.

The flop came Q54, and after Chiu checked, Liu kept up the pressure with a bet of 10,000. Snead made the call, while Chiu quickly got out of the way.

The 7 hit the turn, and Liu wasted no time moving his remaining 16,000 chips into the middle. Snead called just as fast.

Liu turned over AA for an overpair and the nut flush draw, while Snead showed Q9 for a pair of queens.

The river brought the 5, no help to Snead, and Liu secured a double-up.
