Three players - Alex James in the small blind, Dennys Ramos in big and Tsz Chau on the button - checked a 5♠Q♦2♥ flop with a pot of around 300,000.
James led with 80,000 when the turn 10♣ came. This was enough to make Ramos fold but Chau stayed on. The river 5♦ saw another 180,000 come from James' stack. Chau called once again.
James turned over K♠J♥ for a bluff. Chau showed A♥10♦ for a turned pair.
Fun preflop chatter between Alex James and Mihai Manole, as the latter contemplated whether to risk his tournament life on an all-in call of a three-bet.
"I've played two hands all day and you raise me?" Manole said.
"Your raise signifies strength," James responded. "My coming over the top signifies more strength."
"I want to play, but I might lose," Manole said.
"Sometimes, you just gotta put it in," James said. "You should listen to your heart."
Apparently, his heart said fold.
Genady Mayzel raised in the small blind to 80,000, and David Pham three-bet to 160,000, leaving just 100,000 behind. Mayzel calculated for a minute and raised the extra 100,000 to put Pham all in, and Pham called.
David Pham: Q♠10♦
Genady Mayzel: 10♥8♠
The dealer slipped out 5♥K♥K♣5♠Q♦, and Pham won with two pair.
Level: 23
Blinds: 20,000/40,000
Ante: 40,000
Tsz Chau opened for 60,000 in cutoff and got both blinds to call - Alex James and Luis Yepez Carmona.
The three saw a flop of 7♦8♦2♣. The blinds checked and Chau continued with 150,000 making James fold. Carmona asked how much Chau had behind. The Englishman obliged by counting his chips for him. After the count was made, Carmona announced all-in and Chau snap-called.
Tsz Chau: J♦J♥
Luis Yepez Carmona: 10♣8♣
Carmona hit a pair on the flop but couldn't beat Chau's jacks. Carmona got additional outs when the 7♣ turn fell. On the river, another club dropped which should have given Carmona a flush but it was the J♣ which gave Chau a full house.
Carmona was eliminated soon after.
Daniel Maor raised from early position to 80,000, and Ori Hasson moved all in for 390,000. Maor made the call.
Ori Hasson: A♠Q♣
Daniel Maor: 10♠10♥
The dealer laid out Q♥6♣2♣6♠2♦, and Hasson's two superior pair would allow him to remain in the battlefield for the bracelet.
After calling Dennys Ramos' triple barrel David Pham, led out on the river for 260,000 chips into close to a million-chip pot.
The board read: 10♠K♣5♣5♠10♦. Dennys Ramos paused for a bit, then moved all in. Pham folded.
